Shelley F Knight is a passionate advocate for inclusion and empowerment, with over 30 years of experience across healthcare, education, and holistic wellbeing. A former NHS nurse, educator, and qualified therapist, Shelley has dedicated her life to supporting others—particularly those navigating the challenges of disability and special educational needs.
Shelley is the founder and director of SENDsational Families CIC, a Northampton-based not-for-profit organisation created by and for SEND parents. Grounded in the values of empowerment, wellbeing, and community, the organisation delivers practical workshops, peer-led support, and holistic tools to help SEND families move from surviving to thriving.
As a parent of a neurodivergent child and someone with lived experience of navigating complex systems, Shelley combines clinical knowledge with deep empathy. Her unique approach blends evidence-based support with spiritual and creative tools, ensuring families are seen, heard, and supported in a way that honours their whole selves.
An award-winning author, writer and podcaster, Shelley also uses her platform to raise awareness, challenge stigma, and champion neurodiversity and accessibility. Her warmth, honesty, and humour shine through in everything she does, inspiring others to embrace difference and create positive change.
