Surrey Coalition of Disabled People are a user led Disabled people’s charity, which means that we are run by and for Disabled People. Many of our staff and volunteers have lived experience of disability or a long-term health condition.
The Coalition empower and advocate for Disabled people in Surrey to create a more accessible and inclusive society.
Our work covers all of Surrey and North East Hampshire and can be split into three categories.
• Involvement - we coordinate forums, social activities and run a programme to help people to Get More Active.
• Mental health - running several different projects to ensure people’s lived experience is at the heart of services in Surrey and NE Hampshire
• Technology - providing technology and training to the digitally excluded.
We proactively work with health, social care and community partners to co-produce services, strategies and policy.
We identify and respond to gaps in support to meet the needs of Disabled people. We spotlight, celebrate and champion equity, diversity and inclusion.
