The Positivitree

Nominee Profile
Location: Wirral
The Positivitree is a Wirral-based charity supporting families of children and young people (from birth to adulthood) with additional health, or care needs.
We support parent carers through a compassionate, peer-led model that helps them navigate complex systems and feel empowered in their journey. By listening, engaging, and building trust, we help families understand their rights, identify reasonable adjustments, and access the services that will make a difference.
Our approach is rooted in lived experience. We build non-directive, empathetic and respectful relationships that put families at ease and enable meaningful, lasting support. Whether it’s guidance through EHCP processes, applying for benefits, accessing school support, or simply being a listening ear, our team walks alongside families every step of the way.
As one parent shared, “I feel heard and supported—especially by Kelly. I’ve gained more knowledge about the help and support I can get.” Another told us, “Sarah has been everything to us over the past 18 months. I couldn’t have done the last few years without her.”
We blend practical support with connection and community. Our social events and wellbeing activities are designed to reduce isolation, improve mental health, and build confidence—creating a space where parent carers feel seen, understood and uplifted. “You can be yourself without worrying about being judged. They’re always there for you, no matter the problem.”
Everything we do is co-produced with and delivered by people who’ve lived it. Founded and led by experts by experience, The Positivitree exists to challenge the status quo, influence change in the SEND system, and create a world where families are not just supported—but celebrated.
“We wouldn’t be where we are now without The Positivitree.”
