Nominee Profile

Location: Birmingham
I've been part of BT Group since 2012, starting as an advisor on the phones. Over the years, I've taken on many different roles and responsibilities are had some brilliant opportunities to hone my skills while gaining valuable experience. I've enjoyed every minute of it! Work also allows me to give back to our local communities in ways I would be able to do alone, this may be simple fund raising, spending time with those in need or getting out and hands on. And as a bonus, a few years back, I was proudly on the inaugural Colleague Board, giving direct feedback to our CEO and ExCo members - where wellbeing of people was my number 1 talking point.

My passion lies in supporting wellbeing and engagement, and I'm fortunate to have a fantastic network of people I can rely on for support, and who I can help in return. I love to get involved as much as I can with our people networks. Over the last year, I was involved with The Sikh Network feeding the homeless, leading our Birmingham Pride event, and attending sessions for GEN, Muslim, Hindu, and Armed Forces networks, as well as organising the Snowhill Expo, to name a few.

At home, my family means everything to me. I love spending time with my fiancée, and 2 amazing children, and our lively dog Toffee. I'm a massive geek, so I love learning new skills like woodworking, creating quality videos, and setting up photography shoots when I can. I read once that making things with your hands or creating with your mind are equally beneficial to good mental health and its proved right so many times. I also volunteer as a school governor at my children's school, this lets me guide and offer my own expertise to ensure our younger community get the education they deserve.
