Nominee Profile
Location: London
I've been fortunate to play a role in reshaping bespoke tailoring and making fashion a tool for empowerment, self-expression, and inclusivity. At King & Allen, we've built a welcoming space where everyone, regardless of gender identity, body type, or orientation, can discover their authentic style and as we like to say “find their fit!”
Since launching in 2003, we've challenged traditional tailoring norms with a simple philosophy: bespoke tailoring should be accessible to anyone, empowering people to be their true selves without judgment.
Our team has created thousands of suits celebrating individual identity. We've explored inclusive sizing for diverse bodies and gender expressions, and built a reputation as a welcoming space for LGBTQIA+ weddings.
I'm most proud of creating an environment where clients who felt uncomfortable in traditional spaces, now feel seen and respected. Our work supporting transgender and non-binary clients has been particularly meaningful, teaching us to better create tailoring solutions reflecting their identities.
King & Allen's impact comes from our amazing clients. Working with wonderful people like Dani St James (Not a Phase), influencer Max Siegel, footballer Lucy Bronze, presenter Ade Adepitan, and singers Lucy Spraggan and Conor Maynard, who have helped showcase our work and share our message of acceptance.
We've expanded our offering with adaptive tailoring, vegan suit collections and client-centered consultation processes. None of this would be possible without our incredible tailors who bring compassion to every fitting.
A client once said: "I've never felt more myself than in this suit. It's more than clothing – it's a reflection of who I am and who I want to be." Feedback like this means everything and shows we're on the right track.
I'm deeply grateful to be considered for a National Diversity Award in the category of Entrepreneur of Excellence. Any recognition belongs equally to our clients, team, and community who've trusted us with their stories and allowed us to be part of their journey.
