Asad Uddin is a highly respected community leader, Imam, and educator whose lifelong commitment to equality, empowerment, and social justice makes him an outstanding nominee for the National Diversity Awards. With two decades of community service and development, he has dedicated his life to uplifting individuals and strengthening diverse communities across the UK and internationally.

As Founder and CEO of Community Outreach since 2013, Asad has led transformative initiatives supporting vulnerable groups. His organisation provides vital assistance to women experiencing domestic violence, delivers mentoring and stability for children in care, and creates inclusive programmes that empower individuals to rebuild their lives with dignity and confidence. In Lancashire, particularly across Burnley, Pendle, and Hyndburn, his work has had a profound local impact.

Asad is also the founder of the Muslim Burial Trust, a free and culturally sensitive funeral service supporting bereaved families regardless of financial circumstances. With over 100 volunteers, the initiative has facilitated more than 2,000 funerals, offering compassion and dignity at times of loss. During the COVID-19 pandemic, his leadership ensured uninterrupted support, earning him a mayoral award in recognition of his service.

Internationally, Asad has led impactful development projects, including building schools and safe spaces for orphans in Uganda, installing over 800 water pumps in Pakistan, and distributing dignity kits to young girls across Africa and Southeast Asia. These initiatives address both immediate needs and long-term empowerment.

A qualified Imam, he has used his platform to connect with and support people from all backgrounds. His early experience serving as an Imam in 2003 sparked a passion for community engagement that has since taken him across the globe, delivering lectures, seminars, and workshops that promote inclusion, resilience, and understanding.

Whether mentoring young people, delivering community programmes, or speaking on global platforms, he consistently strives to bridge cultures, break down barriers, and create opportunities for others.
