Muminah is a multi-award-winning writer, content creator, journalist, & advocate for youth voice and women's rights. Drawing on her diverse arts background spanning musical theatre, a cappella, poetry, & media, she uses storytelling to amplify Black & Muslim women's voices. Dedicated to creativity for self-expression & community, her work is inspired by her experiences, faith, & commitment to justice, representation, & cultural dialogue.
Muminah founded & hosts Sister Station, a podcast and Open Mic for Muslim & BPOC women to share their creativity with a global audience in over 45 countries.
She’s performed poetry across the UK, from the Scottish Parliament to Somerset House, and at events including Brown Sugar Books Festival and Muslim Arts & Culture Festival. She also played a lead role in a Scottish Youth Theatre production, portraying young Muslim women of colour.
Her writing features in Black Ballad, Friday Magazine, & The Scotsman and in 2025, she completed the Black British Book Festival’s creative nonfiction fellowship, contributing a short story to their anthology. She also completed the Pass the Mic Writers' programme, highlighting women of colour’s underrepresentation in Scottish media.
She's led writing workshops for Muslim Women Connect, the European Women’s Lobby, Black History Month Scotland, Muslim Storytellers, Black Girls Hike CIC & Skater Uktis. Muminah led a workshop at the 2026 International Women’s Podcast Festival and moderated a discussion on Black Muslim representation for Black History Month with Rosebuds Sisters. She was also invited to a House of Lords roundtable with Baroness Pola Uddin.
As a member of the Young Women's Movement (YWM), Muminah co-created a report on young women’s political participation, represented YWM at Scottish Parliament & youth forums across Europe. She recently joined BBC Lead the Change Fund’s youth grant panel, supporting organisations helping young people impacted by Islamophobia, racism, & xenophobia.
