Northern Stars Theatre Group is an inclusive performing arts organisation established in 2019, dedicated to empowering adults with learning difficulties and disabilities through high quality creative practice. Led by a highly experienced staff team with over 50 years of combined expertise in disability support and the arts, Northern Stars delivers accessible, ambitious, and person centred theatre and performance opportunities.
The group offers a fully rounded, multi disciplinary arts experience, supporting members to develop skills and confidence across acting, singing, dance, sign language, scriptwriting, choreography, set and prop design, costume and make up, filmmaking, sound and lighting operation, and song writing. Members play an active role in shaping performances, ensuring that creative work is authentic, collaborative, and driven by lived experience.
Northern Stars stages multiple live productions each year, performing in professional theatres as well as community venues, social clubs and hospitals. Through creativity, collaboration, and performance, the group fosters self expression, wellbeing, social connection, and meaningful participation in cultural life.
