Orla Nothin'
Nominee Profile
Location: London
I'm known for my drag performances, my powerful advocacy and commitment to fundraising. By blending humour, charisma and puporse I've built a reputation as a performer using the drag platform to create meaningful change.
As Orla, I'm a regular presence in London's city nightlife and community events hosting drag shows, bingo nights and Pride celebrations. I try to be inclusive and accessible and ensure a safe welcoming space for people of all identities, so they can be seen and celebrated.
I actively promote LGBTQ+ visibility and I challenge stigma and discrimination. Combining entertainment with social messaging I allow the audiences enjoyment and at the same time engage them in the issues affecting society.
I'm dedicated to fundraising, having undertaken ambitious challenges such as 5 marathons in 5 countries to raise money for charities including Terrence Higgins Trust, Alzheimers Society and UNICEF, supporting both LGBTQ+ focused causes and humanitarian issues. And by using my drag persona I can help attract attention, increase donations and inspire others to get involved.
As Orla, I'm aware of the history of drag and it's importance in making political statements, in the face of prejudice and ignorance. By leveraging my visibility for advocacy and charity work, I hope to make a lasting impact, proving that drag can be a powerful force for awareness, support and social good.
