Queer & Now CIC is a not for profit organisation run by volunteers, providing safe spaces where the LGBTQIA+ community can socialise free from judgement.

Set up by a small posse of queer islanders who personally felt the gaping hole on the island for an exclusive social space, having experience of the isolation and loneliness from not having anywhere to truly be yourself, they hatched a plan. Pop-up gay bars.

Roping in friendly cafes, bars and hotels, in various locations across the Island, Queer & Now started with small social gatherings and quickly grew into a thriving network offering connection, support and community.

In 2025, Queer & Now secured permanent premises, with huge thanks to South Western Railway. Dorothy’s came to life! The Isle of Wight’s first and only dedicated queer community hub. This has allowed the organisation to expand its events, outreach and community support activities, providing a space for all LGBTQIA+ organisations on the Island.

Queer & Now is 100% run by volunteers, hosting regular social events, performances, film nights and community gatherings designed to reduce isolation and celebrate diversity in a safe and welcoming environment.
