The RCSLT Four Nation Working Group on (Developmental) Language Disorder and Exam Access Arrangements brings together multidisciplinary expertise from health, education, policy, equality and advocacy across the UK. The group includes speech and language therapists, specialist teachers and assessors, academics, education professionals, policy representatives and national organisations committed to improving outcomes for children and young people with (D)LD.
Established to address inequalities in exam access and educational progression, the group has worked collaboratively to raise awareness of (D)LD amplify the voices of children, young people and families, and develop evidence-based recommendations for fairer and more accessible assessment systems. Through partnership working, national engagement and practical reform proposals, the group is helping to drive meaningful change so that language difficulties do not become barriers to educational achievement and life opportunities.
