The Queer Parenting Partnership was founded in 2020 to address the stark lack of inclusive perinatal support for LGBTQ+ families. Many queer parents face barriers to accessing maternity and early years care, including fear of invalidation, systemic heteronormativity, and exclusion of non-birthing parents. Research indicates that LGBTQ+ parents experience significantly more stress and lower engagement with perinatal services due to these inequalities

TQPP was created to directly confront these challenges.

We deliver specialist antenatal and postnatal education, peer support groups, 1:1 guidance, and professional training for midwives, doulas, and birth workers. By combining education, advocacy, and community-building, TQPP ensures that LGBTQ+ families are seen, respected, and supported. Since its launch, the organisation has directly supported over 100 families and influenced policy and practice to improve inclusion in perinatal care

TQPP continues to grow despite limited funding, societal pushback, and experiences of homophobia and transphobia. Our work not only empowers individual families to navigate pregnancy and early parenthood with confidence but also contributes to lasting systemic change in perinatal services.

By creating safe, affirming, and evidence-based support, TQPP has become more than a service. We are a community, a movement, and a lifeline for LGBTQ+ parents.
