TNA UK is the national charity supporting people living with trigeminal neuralgia and facial pain. Trigeminal neuralgia is a severe neurological pain condition affecting the face. It is sometimes described as the “suicide disease” because the pain can be so intense, yet many people still know very little about it. Ordinary actions such as eating, speaking, washing, brushing teeth, touching the face or going outside in cold wind can become difficult or frightening. TNA UK provides information, Freephone helpline and e-helpline support, Regional Support Groups, webinars, conferences, patient voice work and practical support for people affected by TN and facial pain, as well as families and carers. The charity is strengthened by lived experience, including through its CEO, Aneeta Prem, who lives with bilateral TN and understands the reality of invisible illness and hidden disability. TNA UK gives visibility, dignity and practical support to a community that is too often misunderstood, isolated or unheard.
