Hebburn Helps is a community group based in Hebburn, South Tyneside and was founded in 2015 by Jo Durkin and Angie Comerford with the aim of providing support to people experiencing poverty and hardship in the local area. The main focus of Hebburn Helps is to provide emergency food and other essential items to those in need. The group operates a food bank and a community pantry, providing non-perishable food items, fresh produce, and hygiene products to individuals and families who are struggling to make ends meet. They also offer other support services, including debt advice, welfare rights advice, and mental health support, and run a range of activities and events, including cooking classes, arts and crafts workshops, as well as campaigns and advocacy work to raise awareness of poverty-related issues. This amazing group is run entirely by volunteers.
