I am truly honoured to have been nominated for this award, an accolade that has genuinely surprised me. It's rare for me to pause and reflect on the positive impact my work has had on supporting autistic individuals and their families.
My driving force is a firm belief that support should be unconditional, not influenced by age, disability, or societal standing.
My approach is to assist everyone I encounter on a one-to-one basis, dedicating my undivided attention and support, whether we're embarking on a long journey together or having a brief conversation to lighten their load. Reflecting on my time studying for my Master’s degree in computer game design, I could never have envisioned ending up where I am today. However, I wouldn't trade this path for anything. Every day, I make a difference in someone’s life, no matter how small.
The joy and fulfilment I gain from helping others reinforce my conviction that I am contributing to making the world a better place. This mission would not be achievable without the incredible support of my team and the autistic community in Norfolk, who inspire my work and motivate me to strive for positive change continuously.
I am convinced that with a little more understanding, patience, and a readiness to embrace differences, society can improve significantly.
